For the first time for a season, both Claygate sides enjoyed success

The 1st XI are now looking safe from relegation and the 2nd XI are still in with a chance of staying up in their respective Divisions.

In the 1st XI Division 1, the first XI hammered bottom side Roehampton with a powerful display away from home winning by 9 wickets.

Bowling first Claygate reduced the opposition to just 85 from 28 overs, with 3 wickets each for Chris Howe and Tuan Hadgie and Luke Webb and Rajindu with two each. Rajindhu is now the top wicket taker in the Fullers League Surrey County League this season with an impressive 41 wickets.

It took only 12 overs for Claygate to score the runs for the loss of only 1 wicket with Rajindhu the star again making 60 not out in a rapid second wicket stand.
Maximum points means that the Claygate have now moved into a mid-table position with just three games to play.

The 2nd XI put in one of their best displays of the season in a tight finish at home against promotion chasing Churt. Second placed Churt decided to bat first on a slow wicket affected by the amount of rain throughout the week. Tight bowling at the start restricted Churt, who when they decided to try and accelerate started to lose wickets. The Sri Lankan pair of Sihan (3 for 24) and Nishan (3 for 21) regularly took wickets and Elliot Lamble collected two at the end to finish with 2 for 40. Churt finished on 172 for 9 from their 45 overs.

Despite being two wickets down quickly at the start, Claygate always looked in the hunt and Russ Guyatt (27) and David Andrews (33) enjoyed a useful middle order stand. But it was Tom Law (49 not out) who guided Claygate home to reach the target with 8 wickets down and with just 11 balls and two wickets to spare. Claygate are still candidates for relegation but it now all depends on the outcome of the last two games of the season.
