Claygate CC 1st XI Set for a Big 2026 Season in Division 7 West
Claygate Cricket Club’s 1st XI are gearing up for an exciting 2026 campaign in the Surrey Championship Division 7 West, with a balanced mix of home and away fixtures that promise competitive cricket right from the opening weekend.
The season begins on 9th May, with Claygate welcoming Ashford CC 2nd XI to the Claygate Cricket Club Ground. It marks the first of nine home league matches, giving the team plenty of opportunity to make the most of home conditions throughout the summer.
Across the season, Claygate will face a familiar set of Division 7 West opponents including Egham, Esher, Sunbury, Farnham, Kempton, Horsley & Send, Weybridge Vandals, and Surrey Warriors. All matches begin at 13:00 through August, before shifting to a 12:00 start for the final two fixtures in September.
Some early highlights include:
Trips to Egham (16 May) and Sunbury (30 May), both historically competitive away days.
A strong run of home fixtures, with three consecutive games at Claygate in June and July.
A mid-season test away to Surrey Warriors on 4 July at Abbeyfields, which is always a challenging venue.
The final home match of the season on 5 September, hosting Surrey Warriors again to potentially round off the year in front of a home crowd.
The side will be looking to build on last season's performances and push for a strong finish in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested division. With a well‑balanced fixture list and plenty of cricket to enjoy at the Claygate ground, supporters can look forward to another memorable summer.
