Welcome
On behalf of Armfield Construction and all associated parties, I would like to welcome you to this first edition of my monthly newsletter. With this build forming an important part of the community, this is a perfect format to keep you all up to date with progress on site, and keep you informed of any relevant information. We take pride in building not only a quality new Clubhouse, but also building a key relationship with the local community.

Progress to date
Most of the work carried out so far has been within the ground. New drainage has been put in place, new substructure Block walls built, lift pit formed, new temporary road surface has commenced, and the Block & Beam flooring installation has started.

Upcoming work
With all works so far being at low level, it may look like we are making slow progress. However, this is all the necessary items to make the rest of the build possible. In April, the block and beam floor will be completed, the steel frame erected, and the external blockwork walls will commence. This next phase of works will give visual evidence of progression.

Adverse weather
We have recently experienced a long period of disruption. The beginning of the construction period was severly hampered by regular storms, delaying intended progress. These should now be behind us and work will continue as intended.

Coronavirus
We are now in unprecedented times, and have met a new challenge, namely Coronavirus.
As a construction company, along with the Architects, SpaceShapers, we are taking this issue very seriously and have many aspects we need to cover. We are determined to continue the build as planned, and have processes in place to monitor the safety and wellbeing of all staff, as everyones health is the main priority. As this is an ever changing situation, we will continue to monitor and adapt as necessary.
