Claygate Cricket Club would like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help at our recent Get Ready for the Season morning. The effort, enthusiasm and teamwork on display were fantastic, and the club is in great shape as a result.

A huge amount was achieved in just a few hours. The junior container was completely cleared out and reorganised, and it is now in the best condition it has been for years. The nets were swept and tidied, the hedges trimmed (hopefully meaning fewer lost balls this season!), and the square received plenty of attention, being brushed, soaked, rolled and fully marked out.

The covers were thoroughly cleaned, with hoses added ready for use, and the changing rooms were cleaned and refreshed, looking excellent ahead of the start of the season. All of this work makes a real difference for players, coaches and visitors alike.

Running a cricket club takes a huge amount of effort behind the scenes, much of which often goes unseen. Seeing so many people come together on Saturday morning to help prepare the club for the season ahead was brilliant, and a reminder of what makes Claygate CC such a special place.

The committee would like to warmly thank everyone who contributed — your support is hugely appreciated, and the club simply could not function without you.
