As we look ahead to another exciting season, Claygate CC has three key events coming up — from preparing the ground to our traditional inter‑club match and a joint community BBQ with the Claygate Royals. We’d love to see strong support across the membership, with players, parents, juniors, and friends of the club all getting involved.

Get Ready Day – Saturday 18th April (9:00am–12:00pm)
Our annual Get Ready Day is the perfect way to come together and prepare the ground for the 2026 season.
All members, parents, juniors, and supporters are encouraged to come along — every helping hand makes a huge difference.
What we’ll be doing:

Setting up nets and sight screens
Tidying and cleaning around the pavilion
Preparing the outfield, boundary areas and matchday equipment
General maintenance jobs ahead of the season

What to bring:
Gloves, rakes, brushes, or any garden tools if you have them — plus suitable outdoor clothing and plenty of enthusiasm.

Inter‑Club Start of Season Game & BBQ – Saturday 2nd May (12:00pm–6:00pm)
Join us for our traditional Inter‑Club Start of Season Match, followed by a relaxed club BBQ. This is a great opportunity for players of all ages to get some early‑season cricket in, meet teammates, and enjoy a social afternoon at the club.
What’s happening:

Fun, mixed‑ability inter‑club game
Participation from seniors, juniors, new players, and returning members
BBQ running throughout the afternoon
Bar open and a great social atmosphere for families

Timings:

Meet from 12:00pm
Cricket begins around 12:30pm
BBQ from mid‑afternoon into early evening

Everyone is welcome — playing or supporting.

Claygate Royals BBQ – Sunday 10th May (14:00–18:00)
Volunteers Needed
We’re excited to support the Claygate Royals BBQ, a fantastic community event bringing both clubs together. As part of the day, we’re asking for Claygate CC volunteers to help with running the BBQ.
Volunteer roles include:

BBQ setup
Serving food
Simple food preparation
General help and pack‑down

Even an hour of help is hugely appreciated and makes a big difference.
This is a brilliant chance to strengthen the partnership between the clubs while enjoying a relaxed afternoon with families and supporters.
