SUNDAY SIDE
The Sunday side was the only team to play this weekend as the season winds down with only 2 matches to go in 2023.
The team played Bank of England at the Oberon playing fields in Wimbledon. The format, as always, was a timed game. The challenge, as always, was trying to bowl BoE CC out. The result, as always, was an unexpected win.

BoE batted first and scored 177 all out in 43.3 overs after electing to bat. The wickets were spread around a number of Claygate CC bowlers - 3 for AvK, 2 for Oscar Madley and Jon “The Sherriff” Law with 1 each for Luke Webb and Rafe Roylance.

CCC expected to face around 40 overs due to the uncertainty of over rates in timed games and that wasn’t far off. The target of 178 was needed in 39 overs with a required run rate of 4.5 per over. The response was solid and it looked like certain win was the only outcome but, as always, there was a twist in the CCC batting. A score of 123-2 became 155-6 which piled pressure on the batters. They held their held their nerve though and finished on 180-7 with 7 balls to spare.

The batting contributions, like the bowling, were spread around with Jefe Cervello top scoring with 51, David Andrews scoring 35 and Mike Roberts 21.
